I have seen it happen a time or two in New England. They should be somewhat ok here in Houston, where it rarely frosts over. In New England, it did some damage - because once the cold snap hits, the plants aren't ready for it.

We see it all the time in early spring - a warm front comes in, everything starts blooming, only to wither and die at the next frost.

As long as we have a mild winter, I think all will be well.
