Random Linguistic Meanderings at 3 AM

omorkaLast night was the last night before school came back in session, and as always, through a combination of having gone nocturnal, my usual insomnia, and mild anxiety, I couldn't sleep.
I was thinking about paleontology (don't ask) and musing on whether the correct name for a female tyrannosaur would in fact be a Tyrannosaurus regina, and whether their remains were in fact found in Saskatchewan.
And then I began wondering, given the Latin gendered forms here, what the derivation of the name of the Vax was . . .
