Once again, [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets turns up a gem . . .

Christopher Walken dancing (and sort of, er, stripping) to a Cole Porter song! Oh, just guess which one . . .

YES!

You know, people (ok, mostly spouse) occasionally ask me what I'd like to do before I die that I haven't, yet, and usually I don't have anything particular in mind. But I think I just added "dance with Christopher Walken" to the list. Because that would be AWESOME.

The man may have dead eyes, but has he got the moves or what?

Today's fandom secret that made me think of you was, naturally, the one that complained that, if self-insertion is the only criterion for being a Mary Sue (which it isn't), then Ray Stanz is the worst of all.

Yeah, that one was fun. Let's see, Ghostbusting involves a custom vehicle with a siren, special uniforms, high-tech equipment, investigations, and an interest in the supernatural. Yup, that was Dan Aykroyd coming up with his dream job, all right. But I love Ray, even if he is a self-insert.

Then again, Venkman is sort of the ultimate version of what up until that point had been Murray's standard comedic antihero character. For a stock character and a self-insert, my Boys In Grey do all right.
