Winding 440 yards of laceweight yarn into a center-pull ball by hand is a royal pain in the tokhis. It would probably help if I had a real nostepinne. (I was using a dowel-rod.)

And my fingers are feeling every fuzzy little inch, let me tell you. 8-(
I actually have two more skeins the same size to wind, but I'm going to be a lazy knitter and wait until I'm almost done with this ball before winding the next one. Or wait for a nostepinne (or, wonder of wonders, a swift and ball-winder) to drop into my lap. Or . . . something. I actually have some instructions for making a nostepinne from a cheap chair leg, somewhere.
I am trying out the Rona Lace Shawl from the most recent KnitPicks catalog, in their Shadow lace yarn (it was fairly cheap). I've never done a shawl in the round before, so we'll have to see how this goes.
Of course, I should really finish Cobweb first . . .
