Good News/Bad News
May. 16th, 2008 11:30 pmGood news: My tuner, picks, and strap buttons for the autoharp arrived.
Bad news: The finger picks are too big for my freakishly small-yet-fat hands and the strap buttons have no instructions.
Good news: I hadn't done a horrific job of tuning the fool thing by ear.
Bad news: Except for the E's. Jesus Christ, I was almost half a step off. What's wrong with me?
Good news: It's tuned much better now.
Bad news: I really do need the T-wrench that PayPal doesn't want me to have - I keep overshooting with the peg wrench I have now.
Good news: I can play a song now, and it doesn't sound like crap!
Bad news: It only has three chords. (See music tag.)
The new strings came in, too, but there's no way in Hel that I'm going to try and tackle that before exams are over. I think one of my chord bars has disintegrating felt, but I'm not sure which of two it is. It could be both, I suppose. I think I'll have to take off the chord bars when restringing the thing, so I'll check them then.
