*guffaw* Then what would they be there for? I'm a caregiver, for crying out loud. I wouldn't know how to deal with someone who didn't impose.

Ah, the joys of Brit-electroni-pop - with the Pointer Sisters singing backup. The restaurant the Spouse and I had dinner at was playing a mostly harmless '80s mix - with this song in the middle. Chalk another one up to the Compulsive Compilation - and another one to the iTunes Music Store.
There are days having a prodigiously good memory isn't a good thing. In particular, it seems to make me more vulnerable to earworms. (You know, earworms - those songs that get stuck in your head because you just barely heard them out of the corner of your ear, or because you woke up with it in your head, or because something reminded your subconscious of it, or sometimes for no good reason whatsoever.) It seems like the dull folk tend to get the song out of their heads when they get to the part of the song they don't remember. That tends not to happen for me - I have the melody down, and my brain "fills in" lyrical bits I don't have. (Often my pseudo-remembered lyrics are better than the originals. The lyrics I sing to Icehouse's "Electric Blue" are, IMHO, far preferable to the ones they're singing.) I seem to be a delightful host for most memes - especially musical ones. (Sometimes this is not a good thing. See also "Badger badger badger . . .")
