1. How much is in your wallet right now?
$7.83. I almost never carry around more than $20.
2. How much money would you need in the bank to feel secure? Rich?
Secure: Hmm. Really, I don't feel terribly insecure on the running paycheck-to-paycheck balance the Spouse and I currently carry, but to be honest, I'd like to have about $5,000 of "cushion" to cover emergencies and/or the Spouse losing his job.
Rich: Cost to buy a reasonable house + 10 years' salary. For me, right now, this comes out to something in the vicinity of $800,000.
3. If someone gave you $100, no strings attached, what would you do with it?
Get a good, solid set of jeweler's tools, probably.
4. If someone gave you $1 Million, no strings attached, what would you do with it?
Buy and furnish a good-sized house, and probably purchase a newer car for the Spouse and a Vespa for myself.
5. How much does something have to cost before it starts counting as "real" money, as a purchase to be considered and evaluated, but below which you'll buy without really thinking about it?
I almost don't understand the question. I don't buy anything without thinking about it; even a $.50 drink requires consideration. And what the item is has a huge impact on whether I'll purchase it on impulse or not; I'll drop food and books more easily in the shopping basket than DVDs, yarn, or kitchen equipment, for example. But in general, $15 is the "oh, ouch" point for me for most things.
