I hate it when the tools go walkabout

My little beading tool set is not in my beading box. The only thing I really need to finish my Blessed Ireland necklace is the round-nose pliers (I have my crimping pliers and a pair of wire-cutters that were not part of the set, and a set of chain-nose pliars that I bought on clearance somewhere) - but the whole set is missing. I looked through my yarn stash, thinking I might have dropped it in the wrong box somehow - no such luck. I even cleaned under the bed, all the way to my horde-boxes, and they didn't manage to roll down there, either. Not a clue where they could be.

So now I can either (a) go by a craft store and hope that their less-than-excellent beading supplies contain a pair of round-nose pliers, and finish this tonight, too late for my birthday party, or (b) order another, slightly better tool kit online, and wait a week for it to come in.

Things being what they are, I will probably end up doing both.


(Oh, and just to add insult to material loss, the Apollocon website says that the CoC LARP is cancelled. This removes approximately half my reason for going. Grr. And I'm not preregistered, either. Someone please talk me out of skipping the con altogether at this point, because I'm seriously considering it . . .)

I'll be there, Lollee will be there, so there will be opportunities for fun. Plus, if you like, I can try to round up enough people and run an impromptu Call of Cthulu game - although it wouldn't be a LARP.

Do you know why the CoC LARP was cancelled?

The website says it's due to illness on the part of the GM. As far as I can tell, this is a reference to perkyshai's ongoing dental hassles, since I haven't heard of teegarden being ill.

It's not so much for CoC as for that particular LARP troupe - I always have enjoyed their games. (They're at least indirectly responsible for bibulb's and my meeting in the first place! Which in turn means that they're responsible for most of my current circle of friends.)

I'm still going to attend, but I'm thinking we'll be there Saturday morning instead of Friday night. (And the Spouse is still not sure whether he's coming with me or not . . .)
