Saw the new Ghostbusters film tonight.

Spoiler-free review: Wall-to-wall fanservice, mostly the good kind. Good characters, fun story, had noticeable pacing and/or editing problems in the third act (in particular, it felt like the main antagonist had had a scene removed). Hewed close to the story of the original, in similar ways SW Ep 7 did to SW Ep 4, for similar reasons. Not as good as GB1, but few things are. Better than GB2. Worth seeing in theaters; I didn't see it in 3D because migraines, so I can't speak to that. Strong 3/5.

If it's the scene that I'm thinking of from everything I've heard, then yes. There was one particular moment removed after someone leaked the entire plot on Reddit a few months ago. Did what you noticed involve the police/military, along with Hemsworth's character?

That scene (or at least one meeting that description) is still there; it's just been moved to the credits. What I noticed that felt like it was missing would have had to have happened closer to the middle of the film than that moment.

I saw it yesterday and liked it overall, the second half more than the first.

This review reminded me that I wanted to see it before camp! So I will be seeing it on Thursday! Yay!

I've seen it twice and I don't miss the antagonist's scene you're missing. But I noticed that (vaguely and obscurely described minor spoilers follow), when Gilbert saves the others from the balloons, Holtzmann says, "Welcome back." The reason Gilbert is separated from the others after the hotel basement scene is there's a scene that's been cut in which Gilbert walks out on the team.
