ihasatardis is full of win. I am particularly fond of macros 1 and 5. (Spouse: there is a very trivial spoiler in the sixth macro; the rest are safe.)
Political linkage: The Union of Concerned Scientists has a page full of examples of political interference in science. Some of these are just angry-making; a few are "WTF were they thinking?" moments.
