For Valentine's Day

Although, being a stick-in-the-mud mathematician, I probably would have phrased it as a conditional - "if it's marriage, then it's love" - as I violently disagree with the converse.
Actually, I don't think the government has any business trucking with marriage - as opposed to cohouseholdership or coparenthood - at all, at either the federal or the state level. But as long as it's going to, then obviously it needs to recognize all marriages equally.
And the hypocrisy of the Rad-Righters on this one just makes me sick. Which is a greater "threat to the institution of marriage" - a divorce rate of 50%, national political leaders who have divorced two and three wives, and celebrities who get "quickie" three-day marriages in Vegas on a lark; or committed couples who obviously value marriage, desperately want the validation of a marriage certificate and a ceremony, and are willing to go to astonishing lengths, including traveling to other states or countries, to get it?
