Not a Surprise, But -

My mother called me at the school at 7:40 this morning.

My paternal grandmother died. The Irish Old New Orleans Belle. The one from whom my witchy blood comes, if indeed I have any. She's been seriously ill for a while now, but we didn't expect this so soon.

Apologies to anyone with whom I had made plans for this weekend - they'll have to be postponed until Sunday or later. The funeral is Saturday, in Hometown (of course), and I'm just trying to get plane tickets home in time right now. I might be back by Sunday evening, and if I am, I'll desperately need Pagan company, having spent Samhain and El Dia de los Muertos dealing with the Catholic side of the family. More likely, I won't be back until Monday.

I'm probably not going in to work on Monday even if I am back in town.

This whole Saturn return thing really sucks.
