I'll be out of town all weekend, so this is my last update until Sunday:

I'm still taking about 2/3 of the normal camping gear with me to the MTDNS. I'm also considering taking extra tarps, since there's about a 30% chance of rain all weekend. This is gonna be hell to pack by myself on Sunday. OTOH, there won't be a Great Works meeting to suck up all the packing time, either.

I may take the small green folding chair, just to have something to cart around with me. The ground at Rec Plant is even worse for sitting on than the ground at the Land.

I'm taking most of my musical crud with me, in the hopes of getting a chant circle going at some point. I'd really like to get to sing, since I really didn't very much at Beltane, other than the free toning with the Tai Chi guy on Thursday (right before DM showed up at my elbow - odd that I just now remembered that).

It will be really nice if the main ritual on Saturday is cool, but I'll understand if it isn't. I just haven't done any group ritual in a long time (I'm actually counting "Four Directions" from Beltane, since we raised some pretty good energy there; that was the last one I've gotten), and it would be nice to have a good one. I feel pretty solid about my little solitary New Moon ritual from a few days ago, but that was more magick than worship - and it was just me and the hidden stars.

Movie Night was okay. I used the new mixer (DAMN this thing is good) to make two chocolate pound cakes, one of which was happily devoured and the other of which is going with me to the MTDNS. DG showed up and stayed through the opening anime, but skipped on the movie, as it was Spirited Away, and he's seen it four times already. (He didn't mention it, but I think he's annoyed that we show the dub of stuff at Movie Night for PB's sake - DG is a sub snob of a higher order than even I am.) Otherwise, it was the usual crowd. EW and the annoying M took my couch, for which I will grudgingly forgive them. PB did not show off any fancy moves, although he did threaten to become celibate, which prompted me to go into theatrical mourning.

It occurs to me that a number of my younger adult friends currently have problems that can be directly traced to Living With the Parental Units Far Too Long. It's so strange to me - I escaped their roof for at least the lion;s share of the time at age 16, and never looked back for a minute - how can they stand it until their early twenties? If space were not a priority, one wonders if they could all get together and get an apartment - a cheap two-bedroom housing four people would really only come to $200 each per month, plus another $40 or so each in utilities. Most or all of them seem to be paying for most of their own food anyway. I suppose I could keep an eye out for bargains . . .

I have to be up far too early tomorrow, so I shall do a little more packing and then head on to bed.
