A New Member of the Household
Dec. 17th, 2004 08:18 pmWell, that was perhaps more interesting than it had to be . . .
bibulb has purchased a new eMac, which was delivered today. Unfortunately, it was delivered quite late - after dark, in fact. Normally, this would not be a problem, but Spouse was out purchasing a new computer chair, and someone locked our vestibule door. So I didn't hear the delivery guy knock, and he dropped off the box outside, at our back door. Fortunately, I heard him drive away, so I found the box before anything untoward happened. But I had to sit outside for about 45 minutes babysitting it, as the box was too big for me to pick up and carry for any appreciable distance. (Low center of gravity + short arms = suck at carrying large boxes.) The time was not a total loss; I managed to call DM and tell him about the Beans show tomorrow at the Tectonic Plate, and he in turn told me about the Celtic Xmas show Sunday at the Longitudinal Line.
Spouse wrangled the box in without any trouble once he got here. He's got it up and running (ah, I <3 Mac OS!). So now this machine I'm typing on - Green Goddess - is mine, and I don't have to worry about keeping him off (or he me, for that matter). He hasn't named his machine yet; he wants to get a better feel for it before he lays an identity on it.
I may see if Warcraft III runs better on the new machine, though - maybe I can use it while he's at work.
