omorkaAuthor Kit Whifield nails a particular irritating male character type: the Macho Sue. Unfortunately, he's not confined to fanfic, as his bishi compatriot Gary Stu is; he's often the hero of the blowin'-stuff-up movie. (Hell, it's half the chracters Mel Gibson has ever played.)
USian and Dutch researchers discover that a sense of efficacy tends to produce better work. Um, duh.
Google succeeds in not being evil. The more I hear from Sen. Lieberman, the more I wonder what the heck Al Gore was thinking, lo these eight years ago. (Can it truly be that we had to suffer through two Olympiads of the current wankers solely to avoid a term of President Lieberman?)
Totally aside from the racism, sexism, and homophobia of the piece, whoever wrote this ad needs to be whipped with celluloid and sent back to community college just from an effective advertising standpoint. (At least the music on this one is much better, but are the political ad writers on crack this year or what?.)
