Initiations by Any Other Name
Nov. 11th, 2004 08:23 pmWe had our Mu Alpha Theta induction today. Out of 26 new kids, 14 showed up for the ceremony, which is less than I'd hoped, but far more than I'd feared. Three old non-officer members, two parents, RR, and Ms. HR all also showed up, which was nice.
I used the first ceremony in the manual. Not that I don't like the other one, but - well, it was written by C^2. I'm not ready to step into her shoes yet! We need to get a banner for next year, and we ran out of membership cards because I haven't ordered more yet. Other than those minor snafus, we did remarkably well. I added a candle-lighting to the ceremony, because it suited my sensibilities. I hope someone got a good photo of all the new members with their lights of knowledge, because I totally teared up.
Tournament this Saturday. I'm really looking forward to this . . . damn, I love these kids.
