Waste of Time

omorkaMore '80s . . . really, iTunes is terribly dangerous. I can pick and choose all the old '80s and early '90s stuff. Having said that, one of my students recommended this to the world in general, and having been curious about the part of the lyrics she quoted, I decided it was worth 99 cents to find out if it was worth the hearing. I think it was.
Today was one of the "extra" half days. We did actually get some work done, but it was one hour's worth of work, and it took three hours to do it. :(
We need to revise the syllabus for Precal. We know we need to revise the syllabus. I don't think we're going to get it done before the end of the year, though. Ech. My syllabus is fine, although I think I want to rearrange it so we dive right into the trig and cover some of the Algebra II review (all the transformations stuff) as we go, and only after we're done do we revisit the polynomials. Part of the problem is that Precal is a bit of a mishmash of topics anyway - there's Trig, and then there's everything else, and no obvious way to arrange it except that limits should go last.
Ah, well, they're as well prepared for Calculus as I can make them. They'll do fine. And they can always come find me for help if they need it next year.
