My Life As a Sponge

omorkaSo this is what I do when I'm alone - suck up information randomly.
I've been listening to a lot of random music. I finally listened to two CDs I purchased during one of the Spouse's store-closing binges, and I have another one sitting on the desk in front of me. I also finally listened to the pirate copy of Muse Secret #73 I got from AA a long, long time ago (I suppose I felt like I had![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
bassfingers's permission to have it, and that's sufficient at this remove). I re-watched one of the appendices disks for FotR, read the first three chapters of a Precal textbook, and started (but didn't finish) one of my gifted ed journals that came in yesterday. (Another one came in today, and I'm expecting the new Roeper Review any day now.)
I also read three catalogs for no reason in particular. One of them is a catalog for biker leathers that I know perfectly well carries almost nothing in my size. I read it anyway.
At a couple of times I was doing more than one of these at once - reading and listening, or reading and watching. (I can't watch one thing and listen to another, unfortunately.)
I suppose I should be glad we don't have cable. I might actually be tempted to watch TV.
I tried to interact socially today, but DG never answered the phone - indeed, no one over there did. I hope they haven't left again already. More likely they all went out shopping or something. I suspect Dr. G is busy with school stuff, especially if he's still department head, so it's just be DG and his mom - if she needed to go out, I imagine he'd be doing the driving. (Or, he could, gods forbid, actually have a job or something. I didn't even think to ask.)
We did have dinner with the MIL tonight. Not a whole lot going on on her end. I know, after the Austin trip, that her sisters are having some issues, but either she's not heavily involved in them or she doesn't feel like sharing them with us. I occasionally wonder whether she'd tell us if she started dating.
Black Swan tomorrow, Movie Night Thursday, probably shopping with the MIL on Friday, maybe a movie with PB on Saturday? I have got to get out of the house . . .
