Writer's Block: Who wants to live forever?

But we do.

Oh, you meant in this particular incarnation. No. I wouldn't mind a given round on the Wheel being longer as long as a body could remain in good health, but our fleshly portions aren't meant to last forever, and replacing them with metal and plastic instead of meat and bone seems fraught with other perils. Periodic change is good for the spirit, anyway, and the sparks in us that are fragments of the divine need to visit their parents once in a while.

The idea of discrete souls still perplexes me every time it is presented to me. I've never seen 'me' as something that would go on. Each of the many parts of me has always been, but I doubt this collection of 'stuff' all worked together before.

I don't know how to exactly write this without coming off as patronizing or awkward, but I always love hearing you talk about your beliefs. You describe them so beautifully. It's inspirational, really.

On one hand, immortality means watching what isn't, go.
On the other hand, immortality would let me see everything.

Then there's the type of immortality. Conditional, like Connor McCloud?
True immortality, like Wowbagger? Really slow aging and recovery from mortal wounds like Jack Harkness?

Hm. Then there's the risk of having a cult build up around your existence/legend.
